The Picket

This is a short film documenting the history of Liverpool venue, The Picket. From its conception as a response to the rising problems facing mid-80s Merseyside youth, through its successes with a host of legendary Liverpool acts - most notably The La's. The Picket has been an influential figure on the cultural landscape of Merseyside over the last twenty-four years; even going as far as actively contributing to the successful bid for Liverpol's 2008 Capital of Culture status. However, in 2003, a change in local council policy threatened the lifeline of The Picket.
